Car Blessings

Cordova International Raceway’s Track Chaplain Cecilia Lynn Garland will be blessing cars at the track this weekend. If you would like to have your car and crew blessed then feel free to ask her. “Last year I attended the March meet for the first time. I met their chaplain Matt Miller, he welcomed me with open arms. He mentioned he blesses the race cars for the racing season. I was able to attend the March meet again this year and help Matt pray with the drivers. I thought a lot about the blessings of the cars and thought it was something I would like to do for the Cordova International Raceway racers. Matt was gracious enough to send me some of his stickers so I could start blessing the cars at the start of the 2016 racing season. I would like to thank Ron at the Shirt Shak in Chowchillo,CA for getting my stickers out fast. For any owner/racer, crew or family that would like a blessing for the year please see me in the staging lanes and we will get it done,” said Chaplain Lynn Garland.

Racing for 2016 begins this Saturday, April 16 with the Spring Warm-Up & Swap Meet with Test-N-Tune, Trophy, Gamblers and Jr. Dragster All-Run. Gates open at 10:00 AM with racing from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Sunday has the same racing schedule as well with IHRA Chassis Inspection Day, please call our office to schedule your inspection.
