IHRA Nitro Jam Survival Guide
The International Hot Rod Association’s (IHRA) Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series returns to Cordova Dragway Park in Cordova, Illinois the weekend of July 18-19 for the IHRA Nitro Jam Summer Nationals.
This will mark the IHRA’s first trip to Cordova Dragway Park since the 2002 season. Cordova previously hosted the IHRA Summer Nationals from 1997-2002. The 2014 IHRA Summer Nationals will feature three days of drag racing highlighted by the Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series professional competition on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19. Thursday, July 19
Pro Parking ONLY will take place throughout the day on Thursday. All Pro Am Racers, ET Bracket Racers, and Campers will stage their rigs in the South Spectator lot until Friday morning when the Racer Gate opens. We will process entries in the order in which they arrived.
Friday, July 18
The racer Gate will open for racers and campers at 9am. Credentialing will take place from 9am to 10pm, with a $35 test & tune class from 1pm-6pm for all ET Bracket and Pro Am racers. The spectator gate will open at noon, with free parking and free crossover. Pro Am qualifying #1 will start at 6pm with the Nitro Jam qualifying beginning at 7:30pm. Pricing Friday is:
- Weekend Adult Crew Pass - $50 (enters on Pit Side at time of race entry)
- Friday Spectator - $25
- Friday Child (6-12) - $10
- Weekend Spectator - $60
- Weekend Child - $30
Saturday, July 19
The racer gate will open for racers and campers at 7am for credentialing. The spectator gate will open at 9am with free parking and free crossover. The second round of Pro Am qualifying gets underway at 9am with Pro Am #1 eliminations directly following the conclusion of their second qualifying session. ET Bracket (box/no box) racers will get 2 sessions of time trials and then eliminations following Rd 1 Pro Am eliminations. Nitro Jam eliminations will take place at 7pm. Pricing Saturday is:
- Weekend Adult Crew Pass - $40 (Sat/Sun – enters on Pit Side at time of race entry)
- Saturday Spectator - $30
- Saturday Child (6-12) - $10
- Weekend Spectator (Sat/Sun) - $45
- Weekend Child (Sat/Sun) - $20
Sunday, July 20
The racer gate will open at 8am for any racers not still entered in second Pro Am race. Time trials for the Pro Am starts at 9am with eliminations following the completion of qualifying. ET Bracket racing will only take place in order to complete Saturday’s box/no box race (if needed) – there is NO new ET Bracket race.
