The Battle of the IHRA Top Fuel Champions Coming to the World Series
The Battle for "Bragging Rights' will go into overdrive this year as two former IHRA Top Fuel World Champions will go head to head on Saturday night at the 61st Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing, as 5 time World Champion and current track record holder (4.601/326.63mph) Clay Millican will have his Parts Plus Top Fuel Dragster here ready to take on the 3 time World Champion and 2 time World Series Champion Bruce Litton in his Lucas Oil Top Fuel Dragster.
"We're very excited to be bringing this Dexter Tuttle tuned hot rod to the World Series," said Millican, "We've wanted to run this historic race for many years and when the opportunity presented itself to work with our schedule, we said YES! Immediately. And to be lining up against our old IHRA rival Bruce Litton, well, that just makes it even more special". Millican continued.
"We are very pleased to be returning to the World Series this year," said Bruce Litton, "We will be ready for everything Clay has to bring, and it has been a while since we faced each other, so this should be a lot of fun for us and the fans".
The Top Fuel Champion's Showdown will be part of the "Pro Finale" on Saturday along with Nitro Funny Cars, Fueled Altereds, Pro Mods, Jets and a whole lot more beginning at 6pm.
