TWR Adds Curry's Transportation Services as New Sponsor
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (August 29, 2014) -- Curry's Transportation Services, a family-owned multi-service company based in Muscatine, Ia. has joined Team Wilkerson Racing (TWR) as an associate sponsor, effective immediately for the remainder of the 2014 season. Curry's Transportation includes a number of operating divisions, including flatbed, van, and hopper transport as well as an on-site truck and trailer repair service department, a towing operation, roadside assistance, and other services and equipment.
Tim Wilkerson welcomed his organization's newest marketing partner by noting the many similarities between Curry's and TWR.
"We're both family owned and operated businesses, and we do business in the same straight-forward and honest way," Wilk said. "I had a conversation with Jason Curry recently, the co-owner and Vice President of Operations, and it struck us both right away that we have a great fit here. We're thrilled to have them join us for the rest of 2014 and both Jason and I have it in mind to keep this relationship growing for a longterm partnership.
"My other business at home, Wilkerson's Service Center, has made a name for itself around Springfield because we do honest work and we do it right. It was immediately obvious to me that Jason and his wife run their company the same way, and I think we can do some good for them by having them be a part of our NHRA Funny Car team. It's going to be great to work with everyone at Curry's, and we're thrilled to have them onboard in time for the U.S. Nationals and the Traxxas Shootout."
Jason Curry, who co-owns the company with his wife Hope, echoed many of Wilk's words when describing why he wanted to bring his company into the TWR camp.
"I love the sport of NHRA Drag Racing, and love to support it and help it grow," Curry said. "Our company is family owned, and we compete against other similar companies that are bigger than we are, but just like Tim we think we do a pretty good job of carving out our own successes and that's what has allowed us to make a name for ourselves. I've seen what he can do against the other top teams in the sport, and I know this is a perfect fit and it will be a good thing for us. It makes sense, and it feels right.
"My goal is to make a longterm program out of this, and I'm here to help Tim and the Levi, Ray & Shoup team in any way I can.
