Posters Benefiting Haylee Lynn Short to be raffled at Banquet

In late 2013, 3 year-old Haylee Lynn Short was diagnosed with ALL – Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Her parents, Chad and Melissa, were heart-broken. "Not in a million years would we have thought we would hear the words 'your daughter has cancer'. When the doctor told us this, the last thing on our mind was the cost of treatment. When St. Jude was suggested to us, we didn't think twice. St. Jude is the #1 Children's hospital for childhood cancer," said Chad Short.

St. Jude has been there for the Short family since the beginning of this heart-wrenching journey. "They're a non-profit organization. Donations from people are what keep St. Jude operating daily. It costs 2 million dollars to run St. Jude daily and we don't see a bill, ever! We get to focus on Haylee's health and not on worrying how were going to pay for her chemo or treatment. So we are thankful for St. Jude in so many ways," Haylee's mom, Melissa, added. "Cancer doesn't discriminate on age, color, gender or race; it can happen to anyone and that includes our children. So imagine being told your child has cancer and thinking, 'How am I going to pay for treatment and also keep a roof
over my child's head?' With St. Jude, you don't have too!"

With that spirit in mind, Cordova International Raceway is partnering with Magic Photos and The Art Place to help raise some much needed funds for Haylee and all the kids at St. Jude. "Our racers are a big family here at Cordova and we take care of each other whenever we can. We're so excited that Haylee is doing as well as she is because she is such a tough girl!" said Bobbi Jo Cox, CIR General Manager. "We're asking racers to plan ahead, bring their wallets to the banquet this Saturday and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win some amazing posters that Mike Garland (Magic Photos) designed, Cordova printed, and Dean (The Art Place) is framing. The money raised will benefit Haylee and St. Jude, so it's win-win for everyone!"

We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!
