2014 CDP Banquet in the Books

The Vista Grande in Clinton, IA once again played host to the annual Cordova Dragway Park banquet this past Saturday, February 7th. Over 250 guests enjoyed a catered dinner from the Corner Deli in Clinton, IA while catching up with their racing friends. On display were six, beautiful posters benefiting St. Jude and Haylee Short which were raffled off that night. In total, Cordova Racers raised over $500 with their generosity. During the banquet, many specialty awards were given away including:

-          Most Improved Junior – Colton Layne

-          Junior Rookie of the Year – Paige Leander

-          Hard Luck Award – Dan Gibson

-          Crew Person of the Year – Nancy Barsema

-          Service Award – Douglas and Frye Motorsports

-          Most Improved Racer – JT Thompson Jr

-          Rookie of the Year – Shelby Weets

-          Sportsman of the Year – Brady Wolf and Seth Bealer

Along with specialty awards, class champions and the 2014 Track Champions were also crowned. Class Champions included Scott Marsden – Layne Super 16, Lou Rausch – West Quick 16, Jimmie Barsema – Top Et, Tom Klemme – Modified, Chris Walters – Super ET, Justin Rosenbohm – Street, Brennan Weets – Super Junior, Seth Bealer – Novice Junior and Tyler Bickford and Nate Loussaert – High School. Our 2014 Track Champions, Jimmie Barsema and Brennan Weets, were awarded with Gold Cards for the 2015 Season as well. Thank you to all of the racers, sponsors, employees and guests who came!
